Help?

The staff at the Concert Hall was wondering if I recognized the artist of this painting. At first glance, it could be a Tom Thomson. There is no R. Kosh on the net, there is however a "Robert Koch". There is no date, but it has been up since the late 60's or early 70's. Look familiar anyone?

hmmm. no idea! kind've looks like one of Milne's paintings IMO.

Makes me think of a couple of giclee's with paint added that I inherited which had English signatures on them, but probably painted in China.

It looks like a real painting to me (And Cent Conc Hall has no other wall mart art that I could see), but not likely Milne or Thompson, under a "pen name". The group of seven influence is there, but I can't see a reason for an established artist (like mentioned above) to sign this non-controversial painting with a psuedonym. It would be cool if that was the case, maybe so cool that our mind drfits toward a possibility like that, without any real reason to. I would start by looking for an artist that name matches with ...R.Kosh (or maybe Kosk). Even if it was a pen name from some old master-dude, it would likely be used more than once (eg:Knackerson) and be findable. If it's an obscure artist, it could still be an interesting discovery (and/or valuable). I bet it's the old manager's cousin or something. Or an old lesser known Wpg artist.
