After Ernest Hemingway

Sleepless at 4 am
and deprived of dreams of lovers,
contests, great accomplishments, my daughter playing,
instead I dream old man’s dreams
of lions on the beach,
and of my sail, furled, and patched with flour sacks
skiff
undulating and turning
on the swells
make my stomach churn
with the feeling
of permanent defeat.

I'm sorry you're feeling sad, but I wouldn't be of any worth to you if I did not very lovingly said: suck it up.

but the old man WINS in the end, even though he "loses".

ya, it's sort of how I'm feeling Wolfboy, winning from loss.

I also just am very inspired by "The old Man and the Sea", and the themes therein.
