whales are... giant friendly mammals who spend YEARS child-rearing, who have individual names/sounds for each other, who spend most of their lives just endlessly circulating all over the globe, and who communicate across hundreds of miles of ocean.

and who apparently (possibly) beach themselves because our ocean-going sonar screws up their navigation and communication systems.

i wonder if humans will stop ourselves in time, before there's nothing of anything left?

Yeah, whales seem to have it figured it out. Humans? Not so much.
