Doubt and Opportunity

I cannot believe I have fooled my way to here,
With my unpracticed party trick from the 1600’s.
I have been handed the key to the control room,
And no one asked me about ID or ideology.

Surely, this dumb luck makes legends,
Prophetic awakenings, with less pride.
All this falling, falling, and finally it feels,
 I have fallen into place.

Now if I can just figure out what all these buttons do!

The hero of this tale has fallen from the tower where his love betrayed him (by falling in love with the moon).

The eel thing is an Olm. It can breath through gills, skin or nose, has no eyes, uses electricity to navigate, and is an older species than a T-Rex. It is coming to save the hero from impending doom. The Damien Hirst Shark is coming to feed, but (just in time)the Olm carries our hero down to the lost city of atlantis, where he learns the secret ways, and discovers his true identity.

=P
