Is the 3rd one (with 4 monsters) showing the process a bit?

yup. my intention was to do this illustration completely in watercolour, but it was taking forever (various reasons; the obvious being poor time management), deadline was looming, and then there were revisions. i did what i could to correct the "mistakes", but that "watercolour look" was destroyed; after layering paint it started cracking, etc., looking way too contrived, and having a muddy texture about it. so i ended up going with what i was more comfy with, that being inked line work, then felt marker colour. i used my watercolours simultaneously throughout the process to add white highlights when necessary, correcting other mistakes, things that were done in ink and could not be changed unless i started messing around in photoshop (increasing the chances of complicating the process even more). once i scanned it i did very little digital manipulation, only contrast/levels, erasing the odd blemish, etc.. that's about it. once the dvd is released i'll have permission to upload the entire illustration, 'til then i hope you dig what you see!? thanks. ~go
